Maotong is a well-known manufacturer of power towers in China. Its 400kV high voltage transmission line tower is the backbone of long-distance bulk power grids. MTtower manufactures 400kV lattice angle steel towers per IEC/GB standards — suspension, tension, angle, and terminal types. Hot-dip galvanized, 50+ year design life.
400kV high voltage transmission line tower is a steel lattice structure that supports high-voltage conductors, ground wires, and insulators at safe heights above the ground. "400kV" refers to the line voltage it carries — among the highest voltage classes used for interstate and international power transfer. At this voltage level, every tower in a line must hold hundreds of tonnes of conductor weight and withstand enormous tension during wind and ice loading.

Engineered for Extreme Loading
Our 400kV towers are structurally analyzed with finite element software against the worst combined load cases: 40 m/s wind on ice-loaded conductors, broken-wire tension imbalance, and temperature-induced sag. Safety factors per IEC 60652 / GB 50545. When the calculation says the tower stands, it stands.
High-Strength Steel, Lower Tonnage
Q420 high-strength steel in the legs can cut tower weight by 15–25% compared to conventional Q235 designs. Lower tonnage means lower freight cost, smaller foundations, and faster erection — savings that compound across a 500-tower line.
Hot-Dip Galvanized for 50+ Year Service
Every component is hot-dip galvanized per ISO 1461 with a minimum 85 µm zinc layer. In normal atmospheric environments, expect 50+ years before first maintenance. For coastal or industrial corrosive zones, we offer thicker coatings (up to 120 µm) or duplex coating systems.
Interchangeable, Field-Proven Connections
Leg members and bracing are fabricated with precision-templated bolt holes, so identical towers from different production batches assemble interchangeably. Erection crews report our towers go together like a well-made piece of furniture — no grinding, no reaming, no hammer-fitting on site.
Full Documentation Package
Each 400kV high voltage transmission line tower ships with certified fabrication drawings, material test certificates, galvanizing thickness reports, and structural calculation summaries. Your consultants and inspection team get everything they need for site acceptance.
As a 400kV high voltage transmission line tower manufacturer and supplier, MTtower fabricates towers for utilities, EPC contractors, and renewable developers — supplied in bulk at factory-direct pricing for:
Interstate and inter-regional 400kV backbone transmission lines
Power evacuation from large thermal, hydro, and nuclear plants
Wind and solar farm grid connection corridors (400kV collector lines)
Cross-border power interconnectors and export lines
Replacement and uprating of aging 220kV/330kV corridors to 400kV class
River crossing and mountain route sections requiring tall heavy towers
Every 400kV high voltage transmission line tower starts with detail design: we convert the tower outline into member-by-member fabrication drawings using 3D tower software, generating cutting lists, hole templates, and assembly drawings that the workshop follows to the millimeter.
Fabrication: angle steel is straightened, CNC cut to length, and punched or drilled with precision templates. Each member is marked with a unique tag matching the drawings, so the steel arrives on site already "labeled" for its position.
Before galvanizing, a full trial assembly is carried out for at least one tower of each type. This is where we verify hole alignment, member fit, and overall geometry — a step many manufacturers skip, and the reason our field erection is so smooth.
Galvanizing: components are degreased, pickled in hydrochloric acid, fluxed, and immersed in molten zinc at ~450°C. Zinc layer thickness is verified with a magnetic gauge on every batch. Final inspection covers dimensions, zinc coverage, and bolt fit.
Qingdao Maotong Power Equipment Co., Ltd. holds the National Industrial Product Production License including the 220kV transmission line tower production license and 500kV steel pipe tower quality certificate. We are not a job-shop fabricator — we are a licensed manufacturer of high-voltage tower products.
Of our 205 registered employees, 85 are technical professionals, including senior and intermediate engineers who handle structural design, detailing, and QC. Bring us a line route and we will engineer the towers to match.
Tower members are bundled by assembly sequence, banded with steel straps, and protected with plastic film at bearing points. Small parts (bolts, washers, fittings) are boxed and clearly labeled. Export packing to sea freight standards, loaded directly from our workshop to containers or breakbulk vessels at Qingdao Port.
Documentation: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Material Test Certificates, Galvanizing Reports. For 400kV high voltage transmission line tower prices, bulk orders, or a quotation, contact our export sales team.
Q: What information do you need to quote a 400kV high voltage transmission line tower?
A: The tower type (suspension/tension/angle), height, line voltage, conductor size and tension, design wind and ice loading, and the applicable standard (IEC, GB, or local). If you have tower drawings, we can quote directly from them — send us the PDF or DWG and we will respond within 48 hours.
Q: Can you provide towers for a complete line, not just one type?
A: Yes. We fabricate the full tower schedule — suspension, tension, angle, and terminal towers — for complete 400kV line projects. We also supply the foundation stub angles and connection hardware.
Q: What is your minimum order quantity?
A: For customized towers, MOQ is 1 set for prototype or testing purposes. For production pricing, we recommend ordering at least 10 sets to benefit from batch fabrication efficiency.
Q: How do you ensure the towers fit on site without rework?
A: Every tower type undergoes full trial assembly before galvanizing. Bolt holes are templated with precision CNC punching/drilling, and each member is tagged to the drawings. Our record: erection crews assemble our towers without grinding or reaming.
Q: What are your payment and delivery terms?
A: Typically 30% T/T deposit, balance by T/T or L/C at sight before shipment. For 30 sets, delivery within 20 working days after deposit. EXW, FOB, CFR, or CIF Qingdao — your choice.
